Beeper Bids Farewell to iMessage on Android: The End of an Era1
Beeper, in a recent update on X (previously known as Twitter), disclosed its decision to delist the Beeper Mini app from the Google Play Store. Moreover, it will relocate the iMessage bridge to the "Labs" segment of its cloud iteration. Consequently, Beeper Cloud will no longer facilitate new users in accessing Apple's messaging service. However, existing Beeper Cloud users may still experience iMessage functionality, albeit with no guarantees. Notably, Beeper has transitioned the iMessage bridge, an endeavor that incurred a notable $750,000 investment, into an open-source project.
In light of its strategic shift towards advancing "a universal, multi-network chat app" and pursuing objectives beyond iMessage, Beeper clarified that it won't extend support or troubleshooting assistance to current users encountering issues with the iMessage solution.
Following Apple's obstruction of Beeper's iMessage for Android application, Beeper devised an alternative solution leveraging Macs to empower Beeper Cloud and establish connectivity with iMessage.
